Biography

I am an incoming Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My research focuses on identifying and addressing the mechanisms leading to the disproportionate burden of cardiometabolic conditions among immigrants and racial/ethnic minorities. My research follows two lines of questioning. First, what accounts for the disproportionate burden of cardiometabolic disease observed among immigrants and racial/ethnic minorities, and what can be done to prevent it? Second, how do these populations experience healthcare, and how do these experiences impact disease progression?
