Biography

Dr. Abigail M. Folberg is an Assistant Professor in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her research broadly examines how individuals and organizations appraise and react to prejudice and discrimination, including work examining sexism and gender stereotypes, prejudice confrontation, tolerance and minimization of bias, and perceptions and outcomes of organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. She is also pleased to collaborate with the Omaha Chamber of Commerce’s Commitment to Opportunity, Diversity, and Equity (CODE) initiative to promote DEI in Omaha-area organizations.

Research Interests

I examine how individuals and organizations appraise and respond to racism and sexism. More specifically my work examines both tolerance and confrontation of bias, the effectiveness of organizational DEI initiatives, and how women understand experience of sexual harassment. I have also done work examining women's interest and persistence in STEM.
