Anita Kaiser, the associate director of the Center for the Study of Global Gender Equity, is among eight staff and academic professional employees recognized by the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences for their outstanding professional contributions. 

Kaiser has been called an anchor of stability for the past two decades, even during times of significant organizational change and transition. Her outstanding performance, deep knowledge, and collegial spirit are credited for strengthening not only the center but also the broader Illinois Global Institute and College of LAS communities.

She performs her work with a level of mastery and diligence that is inspiring, according to a nominator. She handles many responsibilities, from strategic event planning and academic program coordination to budget and grant management and student advising. She relies upon her experience and deep institutional understanding to anticipate needs, plan proactively, and execute complex projects with precision. She has led the efforts of hosting or co-sponsoring a number of events, ranging from high-profile academic panels and community engagement forums to student development workshops and alumni gatherings. The seamless logistics, clear communication, and thorough attention to detail that characterize her work have earned praise from faculty affiliates, students, and community partners alike.

Wrote her nominator: “(Anita’s) efforts have directly contributed to the Center’s steady and growing reputation of excellence, reliability, and high impact on campus. Faculty members have commented that working with Anita gives them confidence that their events will be managed with care and precision. The breadth and depth of her connections across campus are a major asset to the Center, often opening doors for new partnerships and joint initiatives. These collaborations not only enrich the Center’s programming but also elevate the profile of IGI and LAS, showcasing the college’s commitment to inclusive, globally engaged scholarship.”

A celebration of the honorees will be held in February 2026.
