Biography

My research examines the way in which parenting and peer relationships are related to adjustment across diverse groups of adolescents. In addition, I examine linkages between parenting and adolescents’ cross-ethnic peer relationships. I am also conducting research on campus racial climate, belongingness, and college student adjustment with a focus on underrepresented, first generation, and low income college students. Related to this, I am pursuing research on the role of food insecurity and housing insecurity as they related to college student adjustment. I am also involved with several committees that are addressing institutional racism within the university setting.
