Biography

Husain Lateef, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, Brown School. Dr. Lateef obtained his Ph.D. in Social Work from Arizona State University. His research derives in part from his practice experience working with serious juvenile offenders post-conviction. Before joining the Brown School, he served as the social work supervisor for the Arizona Justice Project's Reentry Team, assisting juvenile lifers. His scholarship advances knowledge for social work practice in criminal justice host settings, implications for reentry of juvenile offenders, and culturally responsive preventions of young black males at high risk for justice involvement and premature death.
